Bengal Gram Payasam
This is one kind of kheer that gives a taste of coconut, jaggery and cardamom. To prepare this special Bengali kheer, take Chana (Bengal gram) and wash it. Soak it for half an hour in water. Take a coconut and blend it with water, strain the coconut milk. Now boil the chana in water and as it becomes soft add jaggery and mix well. When it gets melt, mix coconut milk and cook till it turns thick. Now at the last stage, add ghee and drop cardamom powder and blend it. The dish is now ready.
Young Papaya Bites
This is the best choice for the evening snack. The snack is made of papaya and is rich in protein. To prepare this dish, you need papaya. Wash it and cut it into pieces. Remember to remove the seeds and the flesh under the seed and grate the cleaned papaya. Now take a bowl and mix water with flour and keep it covered with cloth for 10 minutes. After it is done add grated papaya to the flour mixture and place it on the plate and keep it covered with cloth. Take cashew nuts and mix it with raisins, coconut, cardamom powder and jaggery powder. Boil water in a double boiler and put the plate of bread into it. Cook it for almost 25 minutes. Before cooking it remove the cloth. As it is cooked cut it into two pieces and spread melted butter as well as cashew mixture on the cake. After it is done bake for 10 minutes at 350 F and a delicious papaya bites is ready.
